How far would you go to stop your drone from crashing?
Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
Losing hours of precious video footage because your drone crashed is devastating. This man was not willing to stand by and watch the tragedy unfold.
Owning a drone puts you in a position to capture hours of breathtaking footage. Whether you are a nature enthusiast or you are looking for ways to capture special moments in the city, a drone offers endless possibilities.
It is also a very expensive gadget, which is why drone owners do everything they can to fly carefully while making their videos. But sometimes there's nothing you can do about a drone running out of battery power.

Many newer model drones are equipped with the ability to fly safely down to earth when power is low, avoiding a full-out crash. This is a handy feature, but it doesn't work as well if your drone was flying over a body of water.
Youtuber DaveSvorking uploaded the footage that his drone recorded moments before it met the water. As soon as he realised that the drone was failing, he ran and jumped into the lake where it was flying and swam towards the drone.
You can see the shot getting closer and closer as the drone gets lower and lower. The owner of the gadget catches it just before it hits the water. The camera, the man and - most importantly - the video footage are all safe.
Would you jump into a cold lake to rescue your drone camera?
