Holistic healer talks about living on an island for nine years
Gerhard Uys, a holistic healer, talked about living on Rota island and helping residents with natural products to heal.
South African holistic healer, Gerhard Uys, lived on Rota for nine years. The island forms part of the commonwealth of the United States.
In the 1960s and 1970s, Uys was a pastor in the Free State. Later, Uys became a reverend at the Church of the Nazarene.
Uys also had a few businesses. At the age of 38, Uys was already a millionaire.

After experiencing major violence in South Africa, Uys decided to emigrate. He and his second wife moved to New Zealand - and started his practice as a natural healer.
His biggest wish in life was to help people to heal themselves with natural products.
For nine years, Uys stayed on Rota island to help residents with natural products.
