Updated | By The Scenic Drive with Rian
South African singer, songwriter and producer Garth Taylor joins Mack Rapapali on the Scenic Drive to talk about the release of his new music video for 'Crocodile Tears'.
Garth Taylor is a multi-faceted performing artist and music producers whose talents have seen him share the stage with international names such as Jonathan Butler, Simply Red and Shaggy.
Garth is known for his soulful vocals and insightful songwriting.
Garth has worked hard to reach this point in his career, remaining disciplined and focused to achieve his goals. While he has achieved success, let it not be said that he has had an easy ride through life.
In October 2017, the SAMA-nominated artist opened up to Barney Simon about the abuse he suffered at the hands of his mother's partner when he was a child.
Garth has chosen to channel this life experience into his work and has committed to doing his part in the battle against woman and child abuse.
Garth's most recent album, Re-Made, has been well-received, with the first single called 'Crocodile Tears' becoming a permanent fixture on the country's radio playlists.
This week, Garth released a music video to accompany the love song, which he says is about the idea that relationships work best when they are kept simple: 'there is always someone there for you. There is no need to over complicate things, love is there.'
The producer of the video, Kyle White, says the visuals were kept simple to mirror the message of the song. Watch the intimate visuals below:
You can see Garth live at Flavour of the City this March.
