'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' comes to an end

Ellen DeGeneres will sit down with longtime friend and media mogul Oprah Winfrey to discuss the news on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' on May 13.

Ellen DeGeneres is ending her show after 19 seasons after it debuted in 2003. 

According to reports, DeGeneres knows that her time is up and this comes as ratings have dropped after several former and current employees accused her of fostering a toxic work environment.

In 2020, employees accused DeGeneres of a toxic work environment and turning a blind eye to bullying by executives.

The ratings from February 2020 to February 2021 were down 40% in New York City and Chicago; in Los Angeles, DeGeneres lost 59% of viewers.

"I know that I'm in a position of privilege and power, and I realize that with that comes responsibility. I take responsibility for what happens at my show," DeGeneres said at the premiere of season 18. 

The show will come to an end in 2022 after season 19.
