Tinus Smit says he is known as the cook in his household. He believes it is his family and friends who voted for his chicken a la king recipe. The Scenic Drive team will put his recipe to the test this Takeaway Wednesday.

Here's Tinus's take on the popular chicken dish. 

Bestandele

1  Middelslag hoender

1  Blokkie hoenderekstrak

2  Uie, fyn gekap

50g  Botter(1/4 Koppie)

1  Lancewood sampioen sous

25ml Vars fyn gekapte pietersielie

1 Pakkie sampioene (opgesny in stukkies)

1 Pakkie hoender room sop

Groen, geel en rooi "pepper"

Feta kaas


Metode

Plaas hoender in n groterige pot en vul die pot met water todat die hoender toe is in water.

Voeg die ekstrak by en kook die hoender totdat daar so 400ml water oor is (ongeveer so 50min).

Ontbeen die hoender en sny in fyn stukkies op.

Braai die uie, "peppers" en sampioene op matige hitte totdat dit sag is.

Menge die pietersielie en lancewood sampioen sous by.

Meng die soppoeier met 250ml van die hoendersous en roer by uie mengsel.

Voeg die res van die sous by wanner die mengsel dik is; roer en laat opkook.

Voeg die hoendervleis by, verlaag die hitte en prut vir 10 minute.

Roer af en toe.

Bedien op rys van jou keuse

Rond die dus af met pietersielie en sprinkle feta kaas oor.
