Chantel Struwig is proud of her unique birthmark, which she now wears as a badge of honour.
Every day she must face the reality of people staring at her, but she is glad that God made her unique.
When Chantel was little, doctors thought she might suffer from Sturge-Weber syndrome, a rare disease that causes epilepsy.
After tests, they discovered that the red mark on her face was just a birthmark. While growing up and going to school, it was never easy for her to be herself because she was 'different', but she always tries to be positive.

In 2017, Chantel saw an Instagram profile of the American actress Paige Lauren Billiot, who has a similar birthmark on her face. This made her believe in herself and helped to turn her insecurities into something positive.
She accepted her unique birthmark, and she is proud of it. She has more than 13,500 followers on Instagram and Chantel is now an inspiration to many young girls and boys who are struggling with their own insecurities.
Her incredible story inspired the team, and we decided to invite her to share her story with us.
