Belgian footballer's embarrassing punting fail
Belgian footballer Michy Batshuayi has gifted the world with another priceless World Cup 2018 blunder.
In a Group G match at the World Cup on Thursday, England and Belgium went into the match with the knowledge that they had both already advanced to the next stage.
This may explain why striker Michy Batshuayi felt confident enough to attempt a celebration kick. Following his teammate Adnan Januzaj's winning goal in the second half, Michy went up to the goal posts to punt the ball.
Michy runs up to the goal posts, drops the ball onto his foot and punts it, but that is not where things end. The ball strikes one of the posts and immediately bounces back into Michy's face.

Fortunately, he was not seriously injured, but this move has certainly earned him a spot in the World Cup meme hall of fame.

Michy himself took the moment in his stride, laughing it off and admitting that it was perhaps not the smartest thing he has done in his career.
It just goes to show that if you are going to celebrate a victory in public, you have to make very sure that your plan will work.
