On 11 October, Argentina celebrates Coming Out Day.

Coming Out Day is an annual LGBTI awareness day to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people - and sometimes other groups typically grouped within the LGBTI community to "coming out of the closet".

The day celebrates those who had the courage to come out to family, friends, and colleagues - and living life as an openly lesbian or gay person.

The foundational belief is that homophobia thrives in an atmosphere of silence and ignorance. Once people know that they have loved ones who are lesbian or gay, they are far less likely to maintain homophobic or oppressive views.

Alberto Pedro D'Alotto, the Ambassador to Argentina in South Africa, joined the Scenic Drive to talk about this special day.
