Johanna Mazibuko is now – unofficially - the world’s oldest person after she turned 128 last week.

According to her identity documents, she was born on 11 May 1894 in the farming community of Ottosdal in the North West.

During her time, she has witnessed two World Wars, British colonialism, Apartheid, and independence.

Despite having her original identity document, she has yet to be recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Johanna gave all the credit to drinking fresh milk and eating wild spinach when asked what has kept her alive for so long.
