man tried to break down how petrol prices work.
In a video posted to Facebook, a man decided to attempt to calculate the price that fuel should be in South Africa.

While he does his calculations, he does note that he is leaving factors out and eventually says that the price we should be paying is significantly lower than at present.
At the end of his calculations, he says that South Africans should pay around R10.52 per litre, which is not that far off the mark.

According to Statistics South Africa using data from December 2021, the basic fuel price was R9.74, with the rest of the fuel cost going to taxes.
