WATCH: Teen abandons newborn at restaurant

A 14-year-old teenager walked into a restaurant to ask for assistance with a newborn baby whose umbilical cord was still attached.

According to reports, the teen claimed that she had found the baby abandoned and required some assistance. The widely shared footage shows the teenager walking into a restaurant, approaching the staff at the counter. A customer who was seated inside the restaurant witnessed the scene and decided to jump in to assist. After observing the child, the customer asked if she could check the infant's vitals.

After reaching an agreement, the customer gets her hands sanitized and puts on a mask before touching the newborn. The teenager then hands the baby over to the customer and flees the scene. The staff and customer contact the police and soon enough the little one gets medical assistance. A search for the mom ensues and after a short while, the teenager is located and reunited with the baby. The Daily Mail reported that the mom was then questioned and admitted that it was indeed her baby. 

The teenager was not charged with any offence and it has been decided that the baby will be put up for adoption.
