surfer was attacked on live TV before he managed to fight it off.
The Australian surfer Mick Fanning was attacked during a competition on the east coast of South Africa.
He said he could see its fin approaching him, so he kicked at it trying to get away and that’s when it attacked him.

The surfer was lying on his board before the shark launched itself at him, forcing him under and blocking everyone’s view with splashing water and foam.
The crowd started whistling and shouting, warning the other surfer to get out of the water before Fanning resurfaced and got onto the rescue jet ski.

Luckily the 40-year-old was uninjured.
