WATCH: Man throws baby at cops after high-speed chase
Updated | By Mornings with Mack Rapapali
A man threw a two-month-old baby at police after taking the police and the baby on a high-speed chase in a residential area.
A 36-year-old man identified as John Henry James III was reportedly arrested in Florida, USA and charged with a number of offences, including aggravated child abuse.
The chase took as long as 40 minutes as the perpetrator attempted to lose the police.
“You can’t throw a baby at us and expect us to treat you with kid gloves,” Sheriff Eric Flowers said in a news release posted to Facebook on Friday.
An edited video of the dashcam and helicopter footage was posted on Facebook, showing the chase and James struggling as police officers try to put handcuffs on him while one of the cops holds the baby.

The part where the baby gets tossed has been edited out. The cop who caught the baby described the incident to CBS News 12: “I’ve seen some crazy stuff but this is definitely up there. It wasn’t a nice underhand handoff from a foot away, it was a throw.”
