WATCH: Lioness sinks teeth into tamer during circus
A lioness did the 'unexpected' when she sunk her teeth into her tamer during a circus performance in Russia.
A video posted by the Daily Mail shows the moment a lioness attacked her trainer during a live circus performance in Russia on Saturday.
Horrified onlookers, including children, evacuated the venue and the trainer, identified as Maxim Orlov, had to be rushed to hospital after suffering injuries to his legs and arms.

In the video, the wild animals can be seen rolling around in the cage when the lioness named Vega suddenly jumps up and pounces on Orlov, who had just entered the cage. Orlov used poles as he and other circus staff tried to fend off the animal as it continued to bite.
According to the Daily Mail, a pregnant woman who was also in the audience suffered an epileptic seizure out of shock.
After the incident, Orlov confirmed that he will find a new home for the lioness and he suspects that the animal went crazy because it was out of practice due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
