WATCH: Huge hippo attacks lions crossing river

you can forget how dangerous hippos are…
A video showing a group of lions trying to swim across a river has been doing the rounds on social media because a hippo made an appearance.

In the video, you see three lions wade into a river and start swimming across, but then a hippo spots them and charges at them.
The hippo catches up to the lions quickly and opens its gigantic jaw and chases one of the lions for a bit.

The lion just manages to make it to the opposite shore where the hippo gives up pursuit, but the hippo then stands guard against other lions.
