WATCH: Horror as Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen runs over his own mechanic

A horrific accident took place during Sunday's F1 Grand Prix in Bahrain when Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen drove over his own mechanic.
Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen was involved in an accident during Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix. The accident took place during a pit stop while his tyres were being changed by mechanic Francesco Cigorini.
Raikkonen got the signal to go, but the rear left tyre hadn’t been changed yet and he knocked his own mechanic to the ground. The mechanic was stretchered away and taken to a medical centre where he was treated for a broken leg. Raikkonen was forced to withdraw from the race moments after and his team-mate Sebastian Vettel stormed to his second victory of the season.

Ferrari has been fined €50 000 (R736 500) after the accident. It was the second time Ferrari had been penalized for an unsafe release over the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend.
