Shocking video: Laughing men beat and stab seal pup on West Coast

In July, a shocking video emerged of a seal pup being beaten‚ stabbed, and tossed around by two fishermen on the West Coast of South Africa.

According to Netwerk24, the two men in the video - Marius Tredoux (19) and Rynhard van den Heever (22), appeared in court on Monday, 18 September on charges in terms of the Animal Protection Act 71 of 1962. If found guilty, the two may receive a prison sentence of up to five years or pay a fine of up to R5-million - or both.
