A very romantic man proposed to his girlfriend in a very spectacular way, and it makes all of us hopeless romantics green with envy.

TV producer AJ Hall, 29, proposed to his girlfriend of two years, Nicole Pagano, over the weekend.

Unlike any other proposal, this one took thorough planning and included securing a billboard in the middle of Times Square, getting Nicole’s boss in on the plan, and ensuring that parents were also there to witness the moment.

"She's the best and she deserves the best so I wanted the best possible idea. I wanted to go big or go home,” AJ told Daily Mail.

Going big for AJ meant getting Nicole’s boss to get her to go view a company ad on a billboard in Times Square, but as she stood in the middle of Times Square to view the ad, Nicole was shocked to see a video of her love story with AJ on the billboard.

"I was just thinking: 'I can't believe they approved this! It has nothing to do with the brand!'" she told reporters.

"Then there was a flash in the video and a photo of me and I looked down at him and it was just as a photo of him with a "Marry me" card flashed up and he just said 'Will you marry me' and I was just like 'Oh my god!' I had no idea.”

The pleasantly surprised Nicole said yes with tears of joy in her eyes. Who wouldn’t cry?

And as if that wasn’t enough for the day, Nicole was shocked to see yet another lovely surprise; their parents running towards her to congratulate her.

“I remember her telling me a while back that the most important thing when I do propose is to make sure parents were there,” AJ said to Daily Mail.

Below is the proposal. You may just want to grab a tissue before watching, because it will make you cry.
