Die Hoërskool Wonderboom in Pretoria has put in place strong measures to ensure that no learner is put at risk of contracting the
coronavirus while on the school premises.
South African schools are set to reopen on 1 June. The announcement was made by Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga on 19 May.

Educators Union of SA (Eusa) has approached the court to ensure that schools remain closed.
The union claims that the minister and the department are lying to the public about supplying personal protective equipment and guaranteeing the safety of learners and teachers.

However, one school in Pretoria has gone the extra mile in ensuring that it has all the necessary equipment to enable them to adhere to the regulations set out by the Department of Education.
In a video posted on Facebook, the school outlines five steps each learner will have to go through before being permitted to attend class.
These include a footer system at the gate that will sanitise everyone entering the premises and an automatic scan system that has been mounted so that temperatures are taken automatically.

Children who have temperatures of above 38 degrees will not be permitted onto the premises. Instead, they will be handed over to government nurses who will take it from there.
