PICS: Fed up community holds pothole ‘fishing’ competition
Can you shame the government into delivering services? Maybe not, but this fishing competition highlights one of the biggest issues communities face in many parts of the country.
A community in KZN hosted a competition on the town's pothole-ridden roads with the hopes of drawing attention to the pothole problem and to help raise funds for a clean-up project initiated by the community themselves.
The competition was created by one of the members of the Curry's Post Conservancy named Kemsley Wood - and the photos from the competition have been spread all over social media.

People were allowed to cast their fishing rods into the humungous potholes in exchange for R20 donations. According to reports, the community doesn't expect the government to immediately fix the roads after this, but they want to tidy up the area.
