Parents upset over controversial kids’ cartoon about man with giant penis

Many parents laid formal complaints about the show, called 'John Dillermand', as it, according to them, is inappropriate for the targeted age group.
The Danish public broadcasting network, DR, is facing criticism after they greenlit a new animated children's program called 'John Dillermand'. The program follows the adventures of the titular character, a man with an extraordinarily large penis.
'Dillermand' translates to “penis man".

The character goes on crazy adventures with his penis, that is four times as long as he is. Dillermand even uses his large genitals as a whip while fighting a lion during a clip to introduce the show.
As to be expected, many parents argued that the show sends the wrong message to children and is inappropriate for the targeted age group.
Jacob Ley, creator of the show, reportedly said that he did so to remove shame and embarrassment around bodies. Ley thinks that it is perfectly natural to talk to kids about bodies in a positive way that doesn’t include humiliation.
The series has provoked debate about what children’s television should – and should not – contain.
