Over 10 tons of plastic waste fished out of the ocean

The Ocean Cleanup Project just announced a major milestone in its fight against ocean pollution.

Plastic pollution in the world’s oceans has been getting much worse in recent years, but the latest efforts by The Ocean Cleanup Project has been making big strides.

In a recent tweet, they announced that they managed to fish 10,086kg of plastic out of the ocean.

The feat was carried out in an incredible six and a half days, and it brings the total amount of plastic removed to 145,518kg.

The plastic that is removed from the ocean is then transported back to land and is then recycled into useful materials.
