The former athlete is now feeding souls with Bible readings and a vegetable garden at Atteridgeville correctional centre in Pretoria.
Oscar Pistorius, who still has to serve at least five years in prison for killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, has found a new purpose.
Pistorius, once a celebrated athlete, is leading a Bible studies and prayer group and harvesting vegetables.
This is according to an interview his father, Henke recently did with The Times UK.

His father, Henke Pistorius, told the British daily newspaper that Pistorius is doing well in prison and has been in a better place since his conviction. He added that they met once or twice a week.
“Oscar leads the studies and is able to accommodate those who aren’t so familiar with the Bible to explain the meaning of all the verses.
In the interview with The Times UK Henke also says that: “He (Oscar) can feel he is making a difference to others who really needed a difference to be made – to give their lives meaning, purpose and some hope. As a result, things have also improved for him.”
The prison has given Pistorius, who will be eligible for parole in 2023, a piece of land to develop a vegetable garden.
Oscar Pistorius has emerged as a spiritual leader behind bars and has even recruited his jail’s most feared gang leader into his Bible study and prayer group, his father has told The Times https://t.co/2X1H5QhrYh

Pistorius shot model Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of Valentine’s Day in 2013, when he fired four times through the door of his toilet, an act he maintained resulted from mistaking her for a burglar.
