This man clearly believed money could buy you a passage into heaven.
Death comes with a lot of uncertainty. Although some people believe dying automatically grants you a golden ticket into heaven, this Ugandan man believed you had to bribe your way in. The man, Charles Obong, who died in December after a long illness, told his wife prior to his death that he wanted to be buried with $5,700 (about R77,136), Daily Monitor reported.
According to the publication, his wife claims Obong asked to be buried with the large amount of cash so that he could bribe God into forgiving his sins. One of his sins, according to several publications, was corruption during his time working in government as a senior personnel officer in the ministry of Public Service.
Obong was so serious about his desire to be buried with his cash that he reportedly even instructed that his family members see to it that his wife carries out the instruction. However, after a family meeting where his will was read, a dispute arose, and his body was exhumed and the money was removed from the coffin, and he was reburied without any money, the publication reports.
