LISTEN: Mack and Rean Pelser discuss the benefits of gaming for mental health

This week on the Gamer's Review, Rean Pelser looks at mental health within the gaming industry.
To date, most of the games tackling mental health have come from independent makers who are more willing and able to take risks by exploring the unusual subject matter.
Video games can be “a more effective way of bouncing back from negative moods than passive forms of media like TV or movies,” said Raffael Boccamazzo, a mental health practitioner in Seattle who works with Take This; an organisation that aims to decrease the stigma and increase the support for mental health in the game enthusiast community and inside the game industry.

"The truth is that video games have many benefits, including developing complex problem-solving skills and promoting social interaction through online gaming", says The South African Online Gaming Federation President, Rean Pelser.
Not a lot of see the benefits of online gaming for mental health and stimulation. Rean Pelser shared the benefits of gaming for adults and children.
