Airport introduces therapy pig to calm passengers
Updated | By Poelano Malema
There is a cute little therapy pig at the San Francisco Airport and she has become an instant hit with passengers.
The stress of travel can cause some people to become anxious. LiLou, believed to be the first therapy pig in America, is employed to calm anxious flyers awaiting connections. Although she won’t fly with you, she will give you a warm greeting and help ease your nerves.
Dr Jennifer Henley, San Francisco SPCA's Animal Assisted Therapy Manager, told Mirror: "We have more than 300 dog, cat and rabbit volunteer teams, but LiLou is the first pig in our program. It's wonderful to witness the surprise and delight that LiLou brings to people during therapy visits."
