The next royal wedding will be the most important one yet!
Updated | By Danny Painter
Not long ago, we all watched as Prince Harry married the love of his life, American born Megan Markle.
The most important royal wedding this year, however, is yet to come. Set to take place in summer, away from the world's press, a wedding that is set to change the face of the monarchy and bring it into the 21st century is being planned.
The Queens's cousin, Lord Ivar Mountbatten, son of the 3rd Marquess of Milford Haven will become the first ever British Royal to marry his partner in a same-sex wedding. The wedding will take place at the couple's home, a country estate in Devon, U.K. Oprah will not be in attendance and we will not be able to watch the festivities on big screens across the world, but the world will celebrate Lord Ivar Mountbatten, and his soon to be husband, James Coyle for years to come.
As the first openly gay member of the Royal family, Lord Mountbatten and his partner are a beacon of hope within the community. They are paving the way for a future of understanding and equal rights among all humans, no matter their sexual orientation. In fact, in a speech late last year The Queen herself vowed to "further progress to tackle the gender pay gap and discrimination against people on the basis of their race, faith, gender, disability or sexual orientation".
2018 is seeming to be a great year for the Royal family in both love and tolerance. And I only hope we can move along with them!
Do you want to be happy? This is the most important thing you will ever hear.
