BACKGROUND: In 2008, Good Morning Angels helped Chantel Landman’s single mom, to pay for Chantel’s Grade 8 school year. Her mom was in a crisis at the time, with no means to make sure her dedicated talented, hard working daughter could go to high school. Now, eight years later, Chantel has written to Good Morning Angels to tell us how that act of help, from perfect strangers, impacted on her life, not only to enable her to go to school, but also to dedicate her life to helping others where she can. She is now a grade 2 teacher while studying at Unisa.
She also alerted Good Morning Angels to three sisters, who are left without parents, after their mother was murdered earlier this month. This, after they lost their dad two years ago to a heart attack. The sisters of 20, 16 and 5 are now without parents and currently living with family.
ORIGINAL REQUEST:
My name is Chantel Landman.
I am currently the exciting age of 21. Why don’t you walk down memory lane with me wont you?
The year was 2008 going onto 2009. I was in my final year of grade 7 in Primary school and now had to go to a high school. This transition was not exciting for me as it should be for most young adolescents. I was frightened, doubtful and afraid. My mom, I mean my superhero. My single super hero. My only superhero who I had known my whole life would not be able to do as most superheroes are expected and save me from my fears.
She would not be able to school me in a safe and secure environment free from the bad realities this world is overcome by. Would she even be able to school me at all? Or would I wave my Primary friends goodbye on their journey whilst I remained behind. The thought of high school was a nightmare for me. I had been preparing for this my whole final year of primary school. This superhero was about to let me down and I had promised myself I would not get mad or disappointed. Sometimes superhero’s can’t do things alone as my mom had done her whole life with me...
Yet she was not alone. In 2008 we got news. News that would change my life. Forever.
My grade 8 year would be fully paid for by the Good Morning Angels team. I could breathe. Not because I was selfish about my personal benefit from this amazing opportunity. Bu t because My Super hero .. My Mom was not alone for a change. My Mom could breathe. She would breathe out the financially strapped down air and breathe in the love provided by so many others that she did not even know personally. She was not alone. She was surrounded by love. Surrounded by super heroes.
This opportunity changed my life. There are people out there that care. There are other super heroes who want to join forces and help each other make the impossible possible. My name is Chantel Landman and from that day in 2008 I realized I wanted to be a super hero for others. I am now a school teacher and dance instructor and student studying through Unisa. Educating grade 2 children on a daily basis on how to not only become academically strong but also to be super heroes for those around them. And for the rest of the world who will need them one day to be the doctors, scientists, teachers and the list goes on. I also teach young passionate dancers that as long as the fire inside your soul remains lit the rest of your body will communicate the message. Once I arrive home I spend my nights and early mornings studying to improve myself.
I have become my own super hero as my Mom always said “ I am not much of a role model and would love for you to mould yourself into something better than I could be” Mom I am now a super hero but I doubt I am better at this job than you are.
Thank you Good Morning Angels for proving to me that super heroes are all around us even when we feel a lack of their presence. However this message is not about me..
This message is about 3 young girls that need a super hero in their life right now.
2 years ago their dad passed away from a heart attack. Last week Wednesday , 10 August 2016, their Mom was murdered . Their Mom named Laurika Potgieter was murdered and there are links to confirm.

These girls aged 5, 16, 20 are left with no super heroes in their lives and a mountain to climb.
Good Morning Angels can you please be their super hero? I want them to be able to finish their schooling careers and if possible even enroll into university without having to worry about the financial restrictions that will be imposed on them with no bread winner. How can we help them ? They are so young and left broken by this tragedy! How can we prove to them that super heroes do exist even when they most doubt it? We have to help them. We just have to...
You changed my life. Help me change theirs ?
From your super hero friend
Blossom
