Good Morning Angels Festive Edition: Helping two talented young performers
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
The Angels came together to help two talented young performers to keep dancing their way through school next year. The Good Morning Angels Festive Edition is proudly sponsored by Roman's Pizza.
BACKGROUND: Rhythm of Hope Outreach is a dance project that has been active at Pure Hope School for under-privileged children since 2012. It started small, with a class of six girls and now, they work with 80 girls on a weekly basis. In September, they found out that Pure Hope's High School needs to close down for various reasons.
This has left 50 of their students, mostly from Plasticview, whom they have worked with for over nine years, in the dire situation of having to find space in High Schools in the area, most of which are private or filled to capacity for 2022. Two of these girls, 14-year-olds Elsie and Ayanda, are very promising dancers and have been selected to attend Pro Arte school. This is a huge honour and opportunity for these girls to fulfil their passion to one day become professional dancers. However, their families are not in a position to afford the R35,000 a year school fees.
That’s why Rhythm of Hope Outreach reached out to Good Morning Angels.

ORIGINAL REQUEST: Dear Good Morning Angels
I hope this mail finds you well.
I am the program manager of a registered youth & community upliftment organisation, called Rhythm of Hope Outreach.
Rhythm of Hope Outreach dreams of seeing a young generation of youths, especially girls, from various disadvantaged and impoverished backgrounds, rise up as healthy individuals with vision, confidence and compassion, willing to use their unique gifts as instruments to bless and make a difference in their communities. We use the tool & journey of dance to help them develop the skills necessary for this, in order to help them break cycles of disadvantage to pursue new dreams of becoming a blessing to others.
We have been active at Pure Hope School since 2012, working with 80 girls on a weekly basis. In September we found out that Pure Hope's High School needs to close down for various reasons, many beyond their control at the moment. This has left 50 of our students, mostly from Plasticview, whom we have worked with for over 9 years, in the dire situation of having to find space in High Schools in the area, most of which are private or filled to capacity for 2022. This also means that for most of them, their dance journey with us will probably also have to come to an end.
We know we cannot help them all, but we are trying to find a way to keep dance alive for 2 of our most promising students who have shown incredible dedication, grit and passion over the last 9 years. We believe with continued coaching, both will be able to pursue a career in dance, in future. They have successfully auditioned at Pro-Arte Alphen Park's dance department but cannot, without help, afford to study at this school.
Pro-Arte's Annual fees for 2021 has been R32 120 per student, with a 7,9% discount on settlement in February, or R2920 per month. This will probably increase by about 10% in 2022. As a registered Public Benefit Organisation, we are in process of securing corporate and international tax-deductible funding for our program and their future tuition, however, we know by experience that funding grants usually require lengthy processes and will probably not be finalised by the start of 2022. Their parents will also be responsible to cover their transport and other needs for their schooling, and we want to involve the students in the networking and fundraising processes in future, as we know this will set them up for greater success in future.
This is why we are contacting you. Would you perhaps be willing to make a tax-deductible donation towards one/both of their fees for 2022? If you would, we will commit to keeping you updated on their successes and challenges along the journey. We know it will be a dream come true, for both of them and for their families.
If you require any more info or have any questions regarding them, please do not hesitate to contact me personally.
Regards,
Talitha de Klerk
