GMA Extra: Catching up with 3-year old Imke Geldenhys and her family

Last Wednesday, we had 3-year old Imke Geldenhuys’ dad, Darius in studio. He told us that they were in a race against time to save little Imke’s life. Imke is their eldest daughter. When we first met this Tzaneen family in February, Imke’s mom, Ilona had just given birth to twin baby girls, in the same hospital, where Imke was receiving treatment for very aggressive cancer. GOOD MORNING ANGELS 8 JUNE 2016 (IMKE 24 FEB 2016)
Catching up with 3-year old Imke Geldenhys and her family - who are racing against time to save her life
BACKGROUND: Last Wednesday, we had 3-year old Imke Geldenhuys’ dad, Darius in studio.
The community has been very supportive, but they need more help. Imke last week received a major operation to remove a tumour – but local doctors have told the family that this was the end of the road as far as medical options in South Africa are concerned. The family received news from Australia, that doctors there believe they can treat Imke – but this would come at an enormous cost: around R6-million rand !!
Several fund raising events are being organised, but time is running out and they funds need to be raised by the end of this month.
Last week, DebtSafe made a donation of R20 000,00 towards Imke’s treatment and the GMA Fund matched this. But, DebtSafe, Wickus Olivier, challenged their “competition” DebtRescue, to do the same. This morning, DebtRescue answers the challenge with some more good news for the Gendehuys family.
ANGEL: Neil Roets, CEO of Debt Rescue
SPONSORING: Debt Rescue will answer the challenge put to them and match the DebtSafe donation of R20 000,00 towards the cost of Imke’s treatment
