GMA Extra: Bringing warmth and knowledge to a primary school

GMA EXTRA 5 JUNE 2017 (GENL NICOLAAS SMIT/BLANKETS)

BACKGROUND: Winter is starting to bite, even more so for vulnerable communities. The team at 'INTIEM Tydskrif' is planning a special day to bring warmth and cheer to a school community in Pretoria West. They will be visiting the Gen Nicolaas Smit Primary school later this month to entertain the more than 1,300 children with a Disney-themed show.

They are also collecting blankets and books to distribute to the children. Any donations are welcome.

Hi Dianne,

I hope my email finds you well. 

For our 'INTIEM' magazine’s midyear function we will be making a difference to Generaal Nicolaas Smit school in Pretoria West.

We are currently looking for any assistance with regards to collecting blankets and books for these kids – many of them come from fractured family units and the school provides a safe haven for them.

Date: 9 June

Theme: A magical day - Disney World comes to play! We will be dressing up and hosting a concert for the kids!

What we need:

· Blankets

· Books: 5-14 year, Afrikaans / English

Some stats: 

41 classes

1340 kids (from Grade RR)

80 staff

Ek kontak julle namens Sizabantu Piping Systems. Ons het komberse bymekaar gemaak en het gewonder of weet julle dalk van ‘n plek

waar ons dit kan gaan uitdeel. Ons het sover 135 komberse en samel nog in by ons agt takke. As julle ons kan laatweet sal ek dit so waardeer.
