The bold wall has captured the attention of all who have driven or walked past the corner of Grosvenor Road and Bryanston Drive.
The buzz started on social media, where users in Bryanston community groups started discussing why the wall was painted red and expressing their thoughts about the paint.

But what many were not aware of was that the painting was only the beginning. After some time, suggestive writing appeared on the wall, such as “Liverpool or Man United?” and "Red Light District Bryanston?".
As the community continued to scratch their heads about the meaning of the wall, a Facebook Page called The Red Wall Bryanston revealed that it was a competition.
R50,000 in cash will be awarded to the person who correctly guesses what's behind the wall.

"Everyone’s talking about the red wall in Bryanston…You know the one — bold, mysterious, and causing absolute chaos at the corner of Grosvenor Road and Bryanston Drive. But the real question is: WHO is behind it?! A celeb? A secret lair? Your nosy neighbour with too much time and paint? 🤯 If you’ve got a theory (or just love a good wild guess), now’s your time to shine — and possibly walk away with R50 000 in cash," reads a description on the Facebook page.
Marialett Emi Koekemoer, the Ward Councillor for the area, says she has been receiving countless calls concerning the wall painting.

“Horrible marketing strategy (wink wink nudge nudge) but next time at least heads up your ward councillor so her whole weekend isn’t disturbed by floods of calls,” she wrote on Facebook.
The community has come together on social media to guess what the mysterious thing behind the wall is. The guesses have us cracking!
