One of these silent phone events would be a wedding.

It is considered polite for guests to remain off their phones during the ceremony, but would you ever feel the need to tell the groom that this is not the ideal moment to check his social media?
One groom thought the walk down the aisle next to his bride would be much more entertaining if we was able to check his phone.
