Twenty-year-old too young to attend friend’s child-free wedding

Is there really a difference between a child and a young adult?
The concept of child-free weddings is nothing strange.

While it might be polarising, at the end of the day it’s up to the engaged couple to decide how they wish to celebrate the happiest day of their lives.
When deciding on a child-free wedding, it means that no kids, babies or young children attend the wedding reception.

Recently, one Reddit user took it one step further with her child-free wedding rule - and we are using ‘child-free’ loosely.
According to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, “Adulthood is commonly thought of as beginning at age 20 or 21 years.”
Most of us might be more inclined to call a 20-year-old a young adult, but there is a clear common understanding in the comments on this post that they are definitely not a child:
It was also pointed out that although the original poster's (OP) intentions seem genuine, she is only one year older than her friend and other Reddit users think she’s actually just being condescending:
While it is her wedding day and she should be able to make any rules she wants, others very clearly took Mel’s side and even called the OP a “bridezilla”:
The bride might have been hoping to get a different response when she made her Reddit post, but after reading some of these comments, she might be regretting her decision.
Although she’s probably not changing her child-free wedding rule anytime soon.
