Tevin Campbell gets candid about his journey as a gay man and his singing career.
In a tell all-interview with the 'PEOPLE Every Day' podcast, the talented Tevin Campbell talks for the first time about his journey as a gay man.

The singer says: "I refer to myself as a former child star because that's just what I am."
Campbell was introduced to the music industry by his coach Quincy Jones, and due to his silky, savant-like vocals, and incredible range, he was immediately called "the next Michael Jackson."
"When I came out to my family and friends at about 19 or 20, that was it for me. And then I went on the road of discovering myself. I didn't know who I was."

He continued being heard saying "I had no idea who I was". Campbell left the music business and attributes a lot of his development to the six years he spent on Broadway in the show 'Hairspray', starting in 2004.
