While we might stare at these brave souls who are willing to put themselves out there on such a public platform, there is a part of you that has to admire their courage.

One thing we can all agree on - causing harm to others is not just frowned upon, but in many cases, against the law.

And it's definitely not the key to winning a televised talent competition.

According to The Mirror, during the recent auditions for 'Britain's Got Talent', a masked and mute magician asked judge Simon Cowell to be a part of his audition.

Simon politely accepted and was brought to the stage where a hood was placed over his head.

What happened next shocked the audience members, the crew, and the rest of the judges.

The magician then proceeded to pour lighter fluid on the hood, locked his head in a box and threw a flame into the box.

As expected, the room erupted in screams and the judges even left their seats as no one knew what was happening.

The Mirror also reported that Alesha Dixon, a fellow judge, thought that it was "very scary" and that Cowell was "a very brave man". She also said that it made her realise how much she cared about her co-worker, as she was ready to run up and rescue him.

And how does Simon feel about the whole situation?

All he really had to say was that he could feel some kind of liquid being poured on his head but he had no idea it was lighter fluid.

One gets the feeling that if he did know, he might never have participated in the first place.

Luckily, Cowell escaped the traumatic event unscathed.

There has been no news on whether the magician moved on to the next round of the competition after the incident.
