First generation iPhone sells for over R1.1-million!

The unopened phone sold for more than 80 times its original price...
In 2007, our lives changed forever when Steve Jobs unveiled the first-ever iPhone at MacWorld San Francisco.

Since then, Apple users have been trying to keep up with the latest and greatest iPhone releases as the smartphones have new and innovative features every time.
In the past, you could have bought yourself a first-generation iPhone for $599 when they hit the market, but the price tag has gone up quite a bit.

More specifically if you have one of these iPhones lying around and it's unopened, then you might want to put it in a more secure location.
The phone's owner, Karen Green, was gifted the phone in 2007 and never opened it.

During an appearance on the television show, 'The Doctor and The Diva', in 2019, Green was told by an appraiser that the phone is valued at around $5,000.
Earlier this month, the phone was listed on the LCG Auctions website and the bidding began at $2,500, but as soon as the bidding started, the price skyrocketed.

According to CNN, the founder of LCG Auctions, Mark Montero, said there were 10 potential buyers with the phone going to someone in the USA in the end.

This isn't the first time an old iPhone has gone up for auction. Just last year, LCG had another phone go to auction, although its bidding did not go nearly as high, being sold for $39,000.
The first iPhones changed the way we were able to communicate and see the world, but they didn't have all the features they have now. Back then, the phone offered you a 2-megapixel camera, internet, iTunes, and was only available with two storage options, 4GB and 8GB.
If you have an old iPhone still wrapped up and collecting dust somewhere, you might want to hold onto it for now. You could be making millions in a few years...
