“We need a vaccine to control the pandemic” – Professor Glenda Gray

"We need to start controlling the virus and without a vaccine, we will be in trouble."
Professor Glenda Gray is the first female President and CEO of the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) and joined Breakfast with Martin Bester for an informative chat on Wednesday.
Professor Gray is the Chair of the Research Committee on COVID-19, providing scientific evidence and experience to the Minister of Health and the National Coronavirus Command Council.

Gray joined Breakfast with Martin Bester to discuss vaccines and sheds more light on how they work.
The vaccine will typically contain a biological preparation from disease-causing micro-organisms. An individual who's been vaccinated still has the ability to contract coronavirus, although they're more likely to be asymptomatic.
