'Walk-In Doctor' opens clinic and patients can pay what they can afford
Dr Paulo Valdoleiros graduated at the age of 51 and opened a clinic where you can pay what you can afford.
Dr Paulo Valdoleiros moved to South Africa from Mozambique when he was 14 and has always had a dream of helping people.
Known as the 'Walk-In Doctor', Valdoleiros graduated at the age of 51 and decided to open a clinic in Bloemfontein.
The clinic, however, allows patients to pay what they can afford.
Booking appointments is also not required. Patients can just walk-in and wait until it is their turn.
Per average a patient will pay R100 to see me. Healthcare must be accessible to everyone and it is not a right - it's a need!

Martin Bester was left extremely inspired by Dr Valdoleiros, so he decided to invite him to talk on-air.
"I graduated at the age of 51, and I always wanted to be a doctor. There was never money to go study to be a doctor but I never stopped believing. Before I became a doctor, I had a few small businesses, but I was never really happy."
