Toxicologist Dr Gerhard Verdoorn of the Griffon Poison Information Centre spoke to Breakfast with Martin Bester about the bad air quality.
Dr Verdoorn is known for his research in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Phytochemistry, Environmental Toxicology, Occupational Health, Industrial Chemistry, Vulture Biology, Toxicology, and Genetics.

He dedicated over twenty years of his career to conservation and is currently employed as Operations and Stewardship Manager of CropLife South Africa and Director of the Griffon Poison Information Centre.
Dr Verdoorn says: “We’re sitting in the middle of winter and Gauteng is known for bad air quality during this time due to air pollution. The best solution to less toxic air quality is a strong wind, to drive away the bad air quality."
