'Tap-tap' trap on the rise as hijackings increase

The 'tap tap' trap is the latest hijacking trend as hijackings rise in South Africa.

Sadly, we need to be even more vigilant as motorists in South Africa, as hijackings are on the rise.

One of these methods includes the 'tap tap' trap. 

The 'tap tap' trap is when hijackers deliberately drive into or bump - 'tap' - the back of a victim's car. 

Once the victim exits their vehicle to assess the incident, they are hijacked.

According to Fidelity Secure Drive, hijackers often use female drivers as decoys in these hijacking situations. 

Martin Bester and the team recently discussed hijackings with the National Hijacking Prevention Academy director, Richard Brussow.
