South Africa’s oldest Olympian is a true inspiration
Dallas Oberholzer has reached the peak of his much-loved sport, making his debut as a 46-year-old Olympian.
The skateboarder from Johannesburg, who now lives in Durban, made South Africa proud in Tokyo by showing anything is possible!

Oberholzer made his debut in the men’s park discipline on Thursday. The salt and pepper bearded South African recently said: “All the years I’ve travelled to go skateboarding I never thought I’d be a dude in a tracksuit representing my country. Now I’m representing the continent - Mama Africa.”
Even though Dallas was not in the running for a medal, he said: “Such positive vibes amongst us (skateboarders at the Olympics) all knowing we made it to an event that’s gonna make skateboarding accessible to more people throughout the world.”
