‘Shrek 5’ to see the return of original cast

The fifth instalment of the iconic animated film ‘Shrek’ is reportedly in the works.
‘Shrek’ fans, get ready! A fifth instalment of the animated film is said to be on the way.
We all remember the iconic scenes and musical numbers from the original ‘Shrek’ films. Hopefully, fans will be treated to another fantastic instalment this time around.

This comes after the great success of the film's recently released spin-off, ‘Puss In Boots: The Last Wish’, which was released in 2022.
According to Variety, the fifth ‘Shrek’ movie will see the return of the original cast to voice the amazing characters.

That means favourites like Cameron Diaz (Fiona), Eddie Murphy (Donkey), and Mike Myers (Shrek) are set to return.

"The original cast is a huge part of that. We anticipate the cast coming back. Talks are starting now, and every indication that we have gotten is there is tremendous enthusiasm on behalf of the actors to return," said Chris Meledandri, CEO and co-founder of Illumination Entertainment.
Interestingly, he also added that a spin-off project is on cards for the much-loved character Donkey, with Eddie Murphy reprising the role.
