PHOTOS: Venice's canal water clears up as coronavirus outbreak keeps visitors away
The canals in Vernice are looking much clearer. This is a direct result of a lack of human contact.
As the world continues to battle the coronavirus, the pandemic is having some unexpected side effects.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, Italy is currently under lockdown and local citizens in Venice have noticed that the water in the city's canals has become much clearer.

Locals also realised that they can see small fish, swans, and dolphins swimming around.
Pictures were shared widely on social media.
