LISTEN: How to properly manage your at-home generator
Updated | By Breakfast with Martin Bester
Martin Bester spoke to Nick Von Broembsen from Bundu Power Generators on how to properly set up your at-home generator!
After a game of 'I was today years old' on Monday, 5 July, a listener stated that municipalities can still charge for electricity being generator by an at-home generator.
"When people are using their generator through their DB boards, they don't switch off the main switch, which means that Eskom even charges them for the electricity from their generator," the listener said.

Nick Von Broemsben confirmed that this was indeed not the truth.
"If you run it [generator] with the main breaker on your power would go back into the grid and essentially your generator would not be able to supply the power. It would go into overload immediately, so there's definitely no truth in that," Von Broemsben confirmed. "If you take your generator and plug it into a wall socket that is very bad and illegal," he added.
