Liesl Laurie and Musa Mthombeni’s next step: lobola negotiations
A few weeks ago Liesl Laurie got whisked off to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, thinking she was going to have a quiet and isolated time away with her boyfriend.
What Liesl didn’t know was that a helicopter was waiting to take them to a picturesque mountain top and that she was moments away from being asked the big question, "Will you marry me?".
It has been a fairy-tale ever since as Lobola negotiations took place at the weekend.

The first meeting involved the presentation of the groom to the bride's family. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the lobola negotiations took place over ZOOM between the two families on Saturday, 17 July 2021.
Liesl Laurie says it was one of the most exciting days of her life. The day stared at 10:30 and by 12:00 the process was done.
