The worst traffic day took place on 25 October 2019 on a Friday. It was on a day the city experienced heavy rain with localised flooding.
Johannesburg experienced the worst traffic on Valentine's Day in 2019. This was due to the Stage 2 load shedding implemented on that specific day.
"They (Jo'burgers) laugh when you tell them that traffic is worse in Cape Town. They don't believe you. I missed a flight due to the traffic and I was just a few minutes away from the airport," Elma Smit.
