"It’s been the greatest experience of my life," Jamie Fine on visiting SA
Canadian TikTok star Jamie Fine spoke to Breakfast with Martin Bester on Thursday about her visit to South Africa, revealing some of her best moments.
If you have a TikTok account, you have most definitely stumbled upon Canadian singer and TikTok star Jamie Fine.
Her hit song, ‘If Anything’s Left’, has made waves worldwide, attracting audiences beyond social media.

South Africa was lucky enough to host the amazing singer on her first SA tour. On Friday, she performed ‘If Anything’s Left’ on Breakfast with Martin Bester’s Friday Live, marking her first-ever performance in South Africa.

Before it was time for her to pack up and head back home, Breakfast with Martin Bester caught up with Fine to hear more about her experience in our beautiful country.
Fine started by thanking Breakfast with Martin Bester for being “kind” and “generous” following her first-ever performance in South Africa.
She also spoke more about her experiences in South Africa and the fact that she met an elephant for the first time, which she refers to as her “spirit animal”.

“I cried like a psycho. They actually surprised me; I thought we were going to the mall. Imagine thinking you’re going to the mall and then meeting an elephant?!” Fine said.
“It was one of the most emotional experiences in my life,” she continued, saying, “It’s almost spiritual.”
Martin Bester also asked the Canadian singer whether she was surprised by any of the food (she previously mentioned how much she loves biltong).
Fine said that she had potjiekos for the first time.
“It is my favourite food in the entire world.
“What I like about your food is that it’s very comforting. It’s comfort food, and having that so far from home was great.”

How about South Africa’s signature Brannewyn en Coke? Fine also mention that “brannewyn was lekker, very lekker”.
Of course, not everything can be great. Fine mentioned that one of the things she had to get used to was loadshedding.
“Parts of it is kind of nice, like my phone not working [sometimes], but I can imagine how disruptive it could be for you guys.”
All in all, Fine said that she had a fantastic time in South Africa, saying that she genuinely “felt the love” and that it was one of the “greatest experiences” of her life.
She and her band also plan on doing another South African tour in March next year.
