"It became progressively more scary" - South African arriving back from Italy
The increasing spread of the coronavirus pandemic has seen many South Africans wanting to return home from abroad.
Millions of people have been affected by the coronavirus and South Africa’s infection number is now standing at 3,300, confirmed by the Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize.
The government is limiting flights in and out of South Africa’s borders.
Amelia Bowers and her husband arrived back in South Africa after being repatriated from Italy on 18 April 2020.

Bowers joined Breakfast with Martin Bester telephonically to explain what she and her husband had to go through to arrive back in the country.
"When we got to Italy there weren’t any coronavirus cases on 16 February. It was scary to watch it escalate," she said.
"We tried to avoid anything that could make us end up in the hospital because that is probably where you would most likely to catch it."
