The opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar has sparked controversy all over the world.
For many, however, it also brought along a great sense of nostalgia as snippets of previous World Cup anthems were played.

One of these was, of course, Shakira's 'Waka Waka' which ignited immense nostalgia, specifically for South Africans.
After the trip down memory lane, the new FIFA World Cup anthem, 'Dreamer' by K-pop band BTS' Jung Kook, debuted.
As it would be, South Africans are comparing the two anthems.
